Refund for delays
Travelling with HTM is easy, reliable and comfortable. Unfortunately it does happen that trams fail to run in time because of faults, disruptions and emergencies. That is very annoying, but it cannot always be avoided. If a delay lasts for more than 30 minutes, you will get a refund of € 3.
This applies only for journeys made on an HTM tram route. Bus routes are not included.
How to apply for a refund
Applications are quick and easy with the ‘Geld terug bij vertraging’ (Refund for Delays) form. Have your bank account number and your OV-chipkaart number ready. If you travelled with a different ticket, scan it and attach the scan to the online form.
Has your OV-chipkaart been charged too much for a journey, or were you not able to check in and out? Then you can get a refund for the excess amount charged by HTM within 3 months of the relevant journey by using the ‘OV-chipkaart Refund’ form. Have your bank account number and your OV-chipkaart number ready.
