Please note: Starting from January 1, 2024, the HTM Bike can only be found at Lansingerland Station and at the Dutch Innovation Factory in Zoetermeer.
Important for you to know
- HTM Bikes can only be found at Lansingerland Station and the Dutch Innovation Factory.
- To prevent unexpected additional costs (for example, if you wait a long time at a red traffic light), you pay per 30 minutes.
- You pay €1 per 30 minutes, up to a maximum of €5 per day.
- You can rent an HTM Bike for a maximum of 72 hours.Your maximum cost is therefore €15 for 3 consecutive days of rental.
- After the maximum rental period, the reservation does not stop automatically. It continues until you end it yourself in the Lansingerland or Dutch Innovation Factory drop zone.
- Download the HTM Bike App from the Google Play Store or Apple Store. to reserve a bike. Register once and top up your balance.
- Unlock the bike lock with the HTM Bike App by scanning the QR code on the front of the bike or manually entering the bike number.
- Don't forget to lock the bike when you pause the ride or stop the rental!

What happens from january 1st 2024?
As of January 1, 2024, HTM Bike is only available at Lansingerland Station and the Dutch Innovation Factory in Zoetermeer. Earlier, the drop zones in The Hague, Leidschendam-Voorburg, and Rijswijk were also discontinued due to low use.

There is still money in my wallet, but due to the expiration of the drop zones, I cannot use it. What now?
We can refund the balance to your account. Send an email with your username, email address, and bank account number to deelfiets(at)htm.nl.
The amount will be transferred to the bank account within 10 days.
Please note: No payout can be made if there is still an active bike rental on the account, and promotional offers will not be paid out.

How can I close my account?
You can cancel your HTM Bike Account if the balance in your wallet is € 0.
If there is still credit in the wallet, request a refund by emailing deelfiets(at)htm.nl.
If there is a negative balance in the wallet, top up the balance to € 0; then you can cancel your credit.

Currently, it is not possible to take over HTM Bikes.

How do I use a HTM Bike?
It's very easy to use a HTM Bike. Here's how it's done:
- Download the HTM Bike app and create an account.
- Go to ‘Credit’ in the app and add credit via iDeal or a credit card.
- In the app, you can see 2 drop zones where the bikes are and whether they are available. In the app, click on the bike that is in the best place for you.
- When you get to the bike, unlock it by scanning the QR code or entering the bike number via the app. The lock will now open automatically.
- Finished cycling? Look in the app to find the nearest drop zone where you can return the bike. Lock the bike by pressing Journey Ended in the app. The cost will be deducted from the credit balance automatically. If, when paying, your balance becomes negative, you will need to top it up.

Where can I cycle to on my HTM Bike?
You can cycle anywhere within Zoetermeer with a HTM Bike. Remember: to end the journey you can only return the bike at dropzone station Lansingerland or Dutch Innovation Factory.

Where do I need to return the bike to after my ride?
You can return the bike at a drop zone. These virtual bike storage places are shown on the map in the app. Starting from january 1st 2024, you can only return your bike at dropzones station Lansingerland or Dutch Innovation Factory.

How can I adjust the height of the saddle?
You can loosen the lever on the saddle and adjust the height. The most comfortable height for the saddle is at your hip.

How do I create an account?
Download the HTM Bike App, which is available in the App Store and in Google Play Store. Once the app is downloaded, there are step-by-step instructions showing you how to create an account.

Can I park my bike temporarily?
Yes, by using the ‘suspend’ function in the app. Remember: the hire costs continue during the interruption. Always lock the bike.

Can I reserve a bike in advance?
Yes, you can reserve a bike 30 minutes in advance, without any extra charge. The reservation lapses after 30 minutes.

What happens if I return my bike outside the drop zone?
The app will show that this is not possible. You can then only suspend the journey, and the hire charges will continue.

Are there children’s bikes, bikes with child seats, cargo bikes or other types of shared bikes?
No, all the bikes are the same size and the same type.

Can I pay the cost of the journey afterwards?
The cost is deducted from the balance afterwards.

Must I always buy credit in the app in advance before I can ride a bike?
No, you may also pay for each journey. For this, you do need to possess a credit card.
You hire a bike. Then you add your credit card details – you can choose here whether to pay for each journey or to top up your balance.

Can I hire an HTM Bike using a mobility card (NS Business card, Public Transport Smartcard, MobilityMixx)?
No, that isn’t possible.

How do I top up my credit balance?
To add to your credit balance, go to ‘Credit’ --> ‘Add money’ in the app.
You can only add money using iDeal and/or a credit card.

How can I pay for my bike journey with a Promocode that I have received from HTM?
- To pay for the bike journey with an HTM Promocode, go to % Promos in the Menu bar of the HTM Bike app.
- Enter the promotion code and press ‘add’.
- The value of the promotion code is added to your bike balance (wallet) in the app.

How long does a repayment take?
We don’t deposit money into your bank account, but we immediately add to your credit balance any amount that has to be repaid.

What does it cost to reserve a bike or to cancel a reservation?
Making or cancelling a reservation is free of charge. The time you pay for only starts when you unlock the bike.

What is the maximum hire period for an HTM Bike?
The HTM Bike system is intended for short journeys being made by different people, so you can only hire a bike for a maximum of 72 hours. The bike must then be returned, but if this isn’t done, further access to the system will be blocked and we can send you a fine of € 400,- plus running rentingcosts.

I have topped up my credit balance but I can't see it in my account?
If you haven’t pressed ‘Back to the HTM Bike App’, there will be a debit from your bank, but the amount will be repaid. Always press ‘Back to the HTM Bike App’.

Can I cancel my account?
Yes, this is possible, but you need to bear in mind that the balance in the account will be cancelled too.

I locked the bike but my journey wasn't ended.
If you don't get journey information within 2 minutes, close the app and restart it. Go to journey history in the menu, where the journey should be shown. If it isn’t shown, contact our Customer Service using the form in the app, or call 0900-HTMBIKE or 0900-4862453

I have topped up my credit balance – why can't I see it?
If you haven’t pressed ‘Back to the HTM Bike App’, there will be a debit from your bank, but the amount will be repaid. Always press ‘Back to the HTM Bike App’.

What should I do if the bike won't unlock?
If the bike doesn't unlock at the first attempt, close the app and try to scan the QR code again or enter the bike number. If it still doesn't work, switch your Bluetooth connection off and on again. If you still can't unlock the bike after several attempts, contact our Customer Service on 0900-HTMBIKE or 0900-4862453, or try a different bike.

Contact our Customer Service or download the app to someone else’s phone and log in to your own account to continue or end the journey.

How do I report a damaged bike?
If you have a faulty bike (flat tyre, missing bell, etc.), please report it via the app. Our logistics team will then recover the bike for repair.

How can I switch the bike’s lights on?
There are 2 types of lighting on the bikes. One has a hub dynamo, and its lights switch on automatically. The other type has a button on top of the front light which you press, and the rear light has a sliding switch.
