Making an objection

Objecting to a fine? This can be done in the following ways:

By post

Draft a legible letter of maximum one A4 with a clear motivation for objecting to the fine. Send this letter stating your name, address, telephone number, a copy of the exit card provided (with card number and barcode clearly visible) and, if applicable, a legible copy of the OV-chipkaart to:

Within 14 days of receiving the objection, HTM will send a confirmation of receipt and respond to the objection as soon as possible thereafter. If HTM agrees with the objection, the amount paid will be refunded to your bank account within three weeks.

Please note: HTM will only consider the objection if the fine is paid within 14 days.
