The Future of Tram 6

HTM and the City of The Hague are preparing the route for Tram 6 in anticipation of the arrival of the new TINA trams. These modern trams feature a low entry, making it easy for passengers using wheelchairs, walkers, or strollers to board.

New trams, more space for everyone

The new trams are spacious, bright, and comfortable. They feature large windows, LED lighting, phone charging stations, and a modern wood-colored floor. They can also carry more passengers than the current trams, providing more space for everyone.

To ensure the new trams run smoothly, the tracks, tram stops, and streets will be upgraded from early 2027 through late 2028. The surrounding areas will also be made safer and greener in various locations. Work will take place in Transvaal, Rustenburg, Oostbroek, Schilderswijk, Bezuidenhout, Mariahoeve, and Voorburg.

Work will begin on January 4, 2027, in Schilderswijk and Mariahoeve. On the map, you can see what this means for the route and stops of tram 6. For example, a bus will run between Laan van NOI and Essesteijn, and tram 2 will temporarily continue on to Leidschendam Noord.

These improvements will make tram line 6 more accessible, more comfortable, and ready for the future.
