HTM 20% Discount Replaces HTM Monthly Discount

Dear traveler, the Netherlands is transitioning from the OV-chipkaart to OVpay. This means checking in and out using the new OV-pas or your debit card.

As of July 1, 2026, HTM has therefore stopped selling the HTM Monthly Discount OV-chipkaart subscription online. HTM 20% Discount is the OVpay successor. Same discount, same price, different pass.


When should you choose this pass?

This pass is a good option if you:

  • Travel with a public transit chip card
  • Travel almost exclusively with HTM
  • Travel using the full-fare balance
  • Travel for at least €25 per month
  • Want a 20% discount on all your HTM bus and tram rides
  • Don’t want to be tied to a long-term subscription; the HTM Monthly Discount expires automatically after one month

Please note: If you pay with your debit card, choose the equivalent product for debit cards: HTM 20% Discount.

With the HTM Monthly Discount, you travel for one month with a 20% discount on all your HTM trips.

  • With the HTM Monthly Discount, you receive a 20% discount on the full fare; discounts cannot be combined.
  • This pass is valid at all times during the month on HTM.* Even on weekends and during rush hour.
  • The HTM Monthly Discount does not work on an OV-chipkaart that also has an NS Flex subscription.

On which journeys do I get a discount with HTM Maandkorting?

HTM Maandkorting gives you 20% discount on all rides on HTM transport. Please note that night buses do not count.

When is HTM Maandkorting not possible?

HTM Maandkorting is not possible in combination with an anonymous OV-chipkaart, travel with age discount or with other season tickets.

How do I stop a monthly subscription?

HTM 20% Discount is a monthly subscription and ends automatically at the end of the month. You do not need to cancel the subscription yourself.
