HTM App Accessibility Statement

This is an accessibility statement from HTM Personenvervoer N.V.

Accessibility Measures

HTM Personenvervoer N.V. is taking the following measures to ensure the accessibility of the HTM app:

  • Accessibility is part of our mission.
  • Accessibility is part of our internal policy.
  • Establishing clear accessibility goals and responsibilities.
  • Implementing formal methods for accessibility quality assurance.

Compliance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define the requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. There are three levels of compliance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. The HTM app partially complies with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. “Partially compliant” means that some parts of the app do not meet accessibility standards.

Additional Accessibility Considerations

Although our goal is to comply with WCAG 2.2 Level AA, we have also applied some success criteria for Level AAA:
• Images of text are used solely for decorative purposes.
• Timing is not an essential part of the event or activity depicted by the content.
• Web pages do not contain anything that flashes more than three times in any one-second period.
• Paragraph headings are used to structure the content.
• The size of the target area for pointer input is at least 44 by 44 CSS pixels.
• A cognitive function test is not required at any step of the authentication process.

Browser and Assistive Technology Compatibility

The HTM app is designed to work with the following assistive technologies:
• iOS version 18 and higher (based on the latest version and the version before it)
• Android version 7 and higher (the default is the latest version and the version before it)

Limitations and Alternatives

Despite our efforts to ensure the app’s accessibility, there may be some limitations. Below is an overview of known limitations and possible solutions. Please contact us if you encounter any limitations not listed below.
Known limitations:
1. Principle 1: Perceivable; Guideline 1.4: Distinguishable; 1.4.10: Reflow: We do not comply with this requirement in the “From” and “To” fields of the planner; users must scroll to read all text when using large font sizes. We have not yet implemented a solution for this. This is part of our roadmap. The text is fully readable by scrolling horizontally in the relevant fields or by using the app in landscape mode.
2. Principle 2: Operable, Guideline 2.1: Keyboard Accessibility, 2.1.1 Keyboard—all functionality is operable via the keyboard interface: For the most part, the application can be operated using the keyboard, but we plan to make improvements to the navigation (the order in which fields receive focus).
3. Principle 2: Operable, Guideline 2. Navigable, 2.4.7 Focus Visible: Not every user interface that can be operated with a keyboard has a mode of operation in which the keyboard focus indicator is visible; see also above. This is part of our backlog.
4. Principle 3 Understandable, Guideline 3.3 Input Assistance, 3.3.3 Error Suggestions: Alternatives are provided wherever possible. Where we rely on external sources, we plan to further improve the error messages. This is part of our backlog.
