This subscription is a great option if you:

  • Travel with OVpay -OV pass or debit card- instead of the OV-chipkaart.
  • Want an immediate 20% discount on all your HTM bus and tram rides
  • Don’t want to be tied into a long-term subscription; after one month, HTM 20% Discount automatically stops

With HTM 20% Discount on your OV-pas or debit card, you travel for one month with a 20% discount on all your HTM journeys.*

  • This subsciption pass is valid for one month on HTM transport, including weekends and rush hour. You choose the start date.
  • You do not need to load the 20% discount onto your card at a ticket machine after purchase. You can use it immediately! 
  • HTM 20% Discount is also suitable for travellers with age discounts (4 to 11 years old and 65+). 
  • You add HTM 20% Discount to one pass. Therefore, always use the same pass when checking in and out to benefit from the discount. This can be an OV-pas or debit card. 
  • If you choose to put HTM 20% Discount on a debit or credit card, always use your physical card when ordering and when checking in and out, and not your mobile card.

What is the difference between HTM monthly discount and HTM 20% discount?

Both products offer a 20% discount on travel. HTM 20% Discount can be linked to your OV-pas or debit card, while HTM Monthly Discount can be added to an OV-chipkaart. HTM 20% Discount on your debit card also offers the following advantages:

How do I travel with HTM 20% Discount on my debit card?

HTM 20% Discount is linked to one pass. This can be an OV-pas or a physical debit or credit card.

You must always check in and out, using the same pass on which you have activated HTM 20% Discount. Only then will you benefit from the discount on your journeys. 

On which journeys do I receive a discount with HTM 20% Discount?

HTM 20% discount gives you a 20% discount on all HTM journeys, with the exception of HTM night buses. 

What is OVpay?

OVpay is the new way to check in and out on public transport. Check in with the new OV-pas, your debit card or credit card. 

How do I stop a monthly subscription?

HTM 20% Discount is a monthly subscription and ends automatically at the end of the month. You do not need to cancel the subscription yourself. 

Do I always have to check in and out?

Yes, just like with the OV-chipkaart, you must always check in and out with your OV-pas or debit/credit card. If you forget to check out, you will be charged €4.00. This is almost always more expensive than the fare.

Why do I need to put HTM 20% Discount on a physical debit card?

HTM 20% Discount is linked to a single unique pass. Banks sometimes replace your pass, in which case you will need to link HTM 20% Discount to the new pass yourself in order to continue benefiting from the discount. Mobile passes are also replaced, but you will not receive any notification from the bank about this. There is a chance that you will no longer benefit from the discount without noticing. And that would be a shame.
