HTM is working on tracks, points and overhead wires

Consequences for tram 2, 3, 4 en 12

From Saturday 8 July to Thursday 3 August, HTM is working on tracks, points and overhead wires on Lijnbaan and Laan van Meerdervoort in The Hague. This large-scale maintenance affects Trams 2, 3, 4 and 12. The route of Tram 3 is divided into two parts; in The Hague part, a bus runs, and Tram 3 runs from the city centre to Zoetermeer. Trams 2 and 4 run a different route and Tram 12 does not run during the works. Tram 34 also does not run due to the summer timetable.

Accessibility of HMC Westeinde

Accessibility of HMC Westeinde

Due to the works on Lijnbaan, the trams temporarily cannot stop at the HMC Westeinde tram stop. HMC Westeinde does remain accessible but take account of having to walk further.

  • Using Tram 2: get on and off at the Brouwersgracht stop (of Tram 6). About 450 m walk via Prinsegracht; use the rear entrance of the hospital.
  • Using Bus 33: get on and off at the temporary HMC Westeinde bus stop on Prinsegracht. About 200 m walk to the rear entrance of the hospital.
  • Using Tram 6: get on and off at the Brouwersgracht stop. About 450 m walk via Prinsegracht; use the rear entrance of the hospital.
  • Minibus 43 (suitable for 8 persons/intended for less mobile passengers). This minibus runs between the Gravenstraat stop (temporary destination of Tram 3) and the main entrance of HMC Westeinde.
  • Using Bus 25: get off at the Brouwersgracht stop. During the works, the Brouwersgracht stop towards Vrederust is moved to the stop of Tram 6 on Brouwersgracht. About 350 m walk; use the rear entrance of the hospital.

Accessibility of stops, trams and busses during the works

The diversions affect the accessibility of stops, trams and buses:

  • Tram 2 will run with red/beige trams (GTL) during the work. These trams are not accessible for travelers with a walker or in a wheelchair or mobility scooter.
  • During the work, only trams 2 and 6 will run through the tram tunnel. Both tram lines run with red/beige trams (GTL) which means that the stops in the tram tunnel are temporarily inaccessible for travelers in a wheelchair or with a walker. Bus 33 and tram 3 and 4 do stop close to the stops in the tram tunnel (Grote Markt stop: bus 33, Kalvermarkt-Stadhuis stop: tram 3 and 4 and Centrum stop: tram 3)
  • For less mobile travelers who want to travel with tram 3 from Zoetermeer to HMC Westeinde, an 8-person shuttle bus is available. This van is wheelchair accessible. The shuttle bus runs between the temporary terminus of tram 3, Gravenstraat, and the main entrance of HMC Westeinde. The van runs from Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 20:00, Saturday and Sunday between 10:00 and 20:00. The van runs without fixed departure times.
  • The route of tram 3 will be split: bus 33 will run on the part from Loosduinen to the center of The Hague (stop Grote Kerk/Centrum). This bus stops as much as possible near the dilapidated tram stops. Only in the direction of Loosduinen, the bus cannot stop at the Fahrenheitstraat and Goudenregenstraat stops.
